Nutbourne Vineyards
Nutbourne Vineyards is a family-run estate near Pulborough, West Sussex, with vines first planted in 1979 and expanded by the Gladwin family since 1991.
The Gladwin family has owned and expanded Nutbourne since 1991, on vines first planted here in 1979, one of the earliest plantings of the country's modern wine-growing era. The vineyard's 24 acres grow eight grape varieties across three trellising systems, on green sand the estate says matches much of the Champagne region. Its field blend, Sussex Reserve, mixes three of those varieties — Bacchus, Huxelrebe and Reichensteiner — into a single still white wine.
Drop by the cellar door by the winery to taste the range by the glass, bottle or flight, or follow the self-guided trail through the vines with a map from the veranda shop. There is no café on site.
